The Angel Tree is a nationwide project launched in 2011 across the Czech Republic aiming to guarantee that every child with a parent in prison receives a gift for Christmas. The project specifically targets children whose parents do not have the financial means to buy them a Christmas gift. This year, 1,500 volunteers participated in the project across the country to ensure that children received a gift. Through this programme, 1,355 children could receive a gift for Christmas along with a letter from their imprisoned parents.
